With its fertile soil and mild climate the Kentish countryside has flourished as a fruit growing region gaining its reputation as the 'Garden of England. On the coast are the remains of the sturdy castle put up to deter invaders from across the Channel. Today though, the seashore is largely devoted to holidaymakers. Our base for this tour is the lovely seaside resort of Margate/Cliftonville with its many attractions, including pleasant beaches, spacious lawns, flower garden and shopping centre.
